STATEMENT: Yes on 15 Statement on PPIC Poll

New PPIC poll reflects consistent majority support from California voters for Prop. 15

In another data point that shows Prop. 15 is supported by a majority of California voters, the new PPIC poll released today shows that 51% of likely California voters support closing corporate tax loopholes to bring investments back into their schools and local communities.

“This PPIC poll is very encouraging, and it reflects the fact that a majority of Californians have consistently supported Prop. 15,” said Yes on 15 spokesperson Alex Stack. “Californians are ready to close these corporate tax loopholes to bring investments back into our schools and essential local services.”

This reflects the fact that polling has consistently shown that a majority of California voters support Prop. 15:

  • PPIC poll from April poll showed 53% support for Prop. 15 from likely California voters, which was a 7 point increase from a PPIC poll conducted in November 2019.

  • Internal poll conducted between August 30th and September 1st showed 54% support for Prop. 15 from likely California voters.

  • Latino Community Foundation poll conducted between August 7th and 16th showed 76% support from Latino voters, reinforcing findings from a similar poll conducted in March.

Prop. 15 is a November ballot measure that will close corporate property tax loopholes to reclaim nearly $12 billion every year for schools and critical local services – all while protecting homeowners and renters, small businesses, and agriculture. Prop. 15 will also cut business personal property taxes for small businesses. An analysis of Prop. 15 showed that only the top 10% will generate 92% of the revenue.
